Via ferrata is a new mountain sport for the majority of people between the ages of 7 – 77.  Enjoy being vertical in a safe environment without any worry!

There are via ferrata sites in the Aravis massif between la Clusaz, Grand Bornand and Thônes.

Longer more advanced via ferratas can be found in the Maurienne and TarentaiseValleys, which can be done with a night in a gite and including an introduction to climbing.

Jalouvre via ferrata

This route has a succession of good quality rock terraces leading to Bouquetin arch before the important section.  The ascent is equipped with small metal rungs requiring similar movements used in rock climbing.

Col des Aravis Via Ferrata

Normally done as a traverse across grassy ledges and rock platforms some of which overhang.  There is a very aerial tibetan bridge between 2 overhangs and the final exit has 2 options: one athletic, the other easier.

Being vertical is on the programme!  You'll need muscle power!
This via ferrata looks down on Thônes.  Short but technical with a monkey bridge, challenging, sensations guaranteed!
Escape route possible if tired.
