Introductory course at Chamonix

Training and initiation.
A course for beginners with 1 or 2 days rock and ice climbing to acquire the basic skills before setting off for your first mountain climb chosen by yourself with my advice.
Whatever your level and experience, these training courses have one objective: you learn the necessary basic security skills indispensable in mountaineering.

Group size: 1 guide for 3 - 4 people - Duration: 5 days.
Site: Chamonix
Typical programme:

DAY 1 :Climbing school in Chamonix
- belaying in lead climbing and seconding
- top-roping, abseiling, setting up an abseil, lead climbing, seconding, placing a stopper

DAY 2: Rock climbing depending on the course level (Index, Chapelle de la Glière...)

DAY 3: Ice climbing: Mer de Glace
- initiation or revision of different glacier techniques
- ice screw placement, classic 10 point crampon technique, progression or ice axe traction, crevasse rescue (prussiking)....

DAY 4: Snow/ice climb in the Mont Blanc Massif e.g. Petite Verte...

DAY 5: Climb in the Mont Blanc Massif to be decided by the group depending on motivation.


2006 Rates: 600 € per person

Short Course

Over 3 days, you'll learn methods of progression in lead climbing and the different techniques of mountaineering.  Adapted to your level, these courses are skill based and instructional.

Group size:
“Initiation” : 3 - 4 people
“Advanced” : 2 - 3 people.
Location: Chamonix
Departure dates: June - September.
Weekdays, bank holiday weekends, on request.

Prices:

   Initiation: 345 € per person.
   Advanced: 430 € per person.
