Later in the season these same climbs are often in bad condition ...

Initiation course:

Introduction and progression (for beginners and intermediates)
There are 1 or 2 days of climbing and ice climbing and basic skills acquisition.  Then you are ready for your first high mountain climb, chosen by you and following the advice of your guide.

Whatever your level and any eventual experience, these courses have one objective: to teach you the necessary safety skills indispensable for mountaineering.

Group size: 1 guide per 3 - 4 people
Duration: 5 days

Typical programme:

DAY 1: Rock-climbing training

       belaying in lead climbing and seconding
     top-roping, abseiling, setting up an abseil, lead climbing, seconding, placing a stopper


DAY 2: Rock-climb depending on the level of the course (Index, Chapelle de la Glière...)


DAY 3: Ice climb on the Mer de Glace

     initiation or revision of different glacier techniques
     ice screw placement, classic 10 point crampon technique, progression or ice axe traction, crevasse rescue (prussiking)....


DAY 4: Climb on snow/ice eg: Petite Verte

DAY 5: Climb in the Mont Blanc Massif, to be decided according to the motivation of the group.

Mini-courses:

Over 3 days, discover methods of progression in lead climbing and different mountaineering and climbing techniques.  Adapted to each level, these courses are skill based and instructional.

Group size:

       “initiation” : 3 - 4 people
     “advanced” : 2 - 3 people
